Winter is still here....... and I'm over it already! I know my friends in the North are saying "suck it up buttercup" LOL, but I'm just getting too old for this, I guess! We got about 4" the other day and it was below freezing for 6 days or so, and below zero a couple of those days. That makes for a COLD camper! For those of you that don't know, Val and I are living in a camper on the property until we can get a house built, hopefully this fall. We have two, full hook up RV pads on property. The other is for rent, if you're traveling with the RV in tow!
Most of the snow is gone. We did have a water meter freeze out at the road and we didn't have water in one building and the camper for about half a day. But everything is working now and no broken pipes, thank God! He is watching over this place for sure! We had a couple days of above freezing temps, but we have to endure a couple more days of below freezing temps before a heat wave in the 40's and 50's hits us next week! Might have to break out the shorts!
Still working on the "don't worry" part like the bible tells us not to do.... Matthew 6:25.....
Grand Lake, Oklahoma, Tournament Results, Lake Level, Area Info
Did NOT get on the water this week! Because..... A. There are very few ramps that are not iced over, although one of the catfish guides found one, not sure where.... and B. I can handle the cold, but not THIS cold! The lake level has still been hovering around 742.00. Pool is 744.00 so its a couple of feet down, which is normal for this time of year. I don't know the water temp but I would think its in the 30's.
These are pictures of the Wolf Creek Boating Facility. This is where most of the big events go out of, including the 2024 Bassmaster Classic! But there are few before that, including the first one in just a few weeks, The @TwistedCatOutdoors catfish tourney! Several of the anglers from that event have booked here. Looking forward to meeting those guys. Hope we thaw out by then!
Now a trip down memory lane...... This big ole Hawk sitting in a tree above our little frozen pond reminded me of all the trips we took as a family from Webb City to the Kansas City or Salina Ks area for family get togethers. On those road trips, to keep Brett and Brie occupied, we would count Hawks! It only counted toward your total if you saw it first. So, you had to stay alert and yell out "HAWK", when you saw one...... love those good, simple times! Try it sometime! It works!

World Fishing Tour - February 17-24 (3 rooms left for Friday the 16th, 9 rooms left the 17th on)
XFL - March 3 (6 rooms left for that weekend) Also heard Ozark Mountain Team Trail this weekend??
Anglers In Action and Nichols - March 9 and 10 ( 7 rooms left for that weekend and 1 for part of the weekend)
Don't forget about about The Lake Lodge at Grand Lake O' the Cherokees for your non fishing needs too. It would be a great place while visiting the Cherokee Casino that is literally one minute away! We have 10 sleeping rooms. Each has two (2) double beds, a 42" smart TV, mini fridge, microwave, coffee maker, WIFI, lighted, covered pull through boat parking, outdoor TV to watch the game while rigging tackle, BBQ grills, two (2) free bags of ice each day, picnic tables and a large fire pit for those cool nights! Plus two full hook up RV Pads!
